Hello My Name Is: Saker414
Name: Saker414
Crew: TWA
City/Country: Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain
When did you start writing? 2004
What’s graffiti for you?
Friends, exploring, disconnect, some troubles…
Influences?
My crew mates, Barcelona and Madrid styles, 70’s and 80’s NYC kings and funny different writers from Europe.
Tell us about your city, how is life and graffiti there?
There are many abandones places to paint. Virgin spots where I don’t need to paint over other writers, where I can take a great photo, make big and great walls with friends. A nice place to be. It’s not like Barcelona. During the week you can go out to paint at night without stress. Here there are not much police at night. unfortunately there is not much respect.
What keeps you still writing?
The dissatisfaction. The piece I love today maybe I hate it tomorrow. Try to make new colour combinations, different skills, letter forms, backgrounds, fillings. Friends also. To know other writers, Find new spots. The need to say: Hy! I’m here, I am another player more in this party.
What first made you interested in graffiti and how did you end up on that track?
Barcelona scene. GFM Crew. Wels, Eczes, Sore, Iser, Saino, Colbie, Gore and more. When I was younger and I go to Barcelona I see his throw up’s and vandals everywhere. Also in Terrassa I have Flash, Amigo, Kosmik, Ida and the rest of Hawaii Computers crew walls that make me love and start to paint graffitti.
What trends are you seeing now in the graffiti world that you don’t like?
The disrespect. Too much ego.
What do you do when you’re not painting?
Finding places to paint, working, drawing, Tinder, taking photos and now start tattooing.
How would you describe your style?
Easy pieces with a funny backgrounds now. Everytime I want to find a relationship between curves and straight lines, old and new skills and fillings. But maybe tomorrow this style bored me and I change it again.
Can you remember the first piece you did?
Yes! Why not? A silverpiece under the spanish fucking sun in august.
Future plans?
I don’t think so much in future. Painting for sure!
Do you adapt your pieces and tags to the spot/surface?
Yes, always. Sometimes the piece is an adaptation of the original sketch to the space on the wall, the colour of the background, etc… It’s funny for me, it makes me try new kind of letters.
What do you think about the new generation of writers in your city?
Generally young boys painting over kings pieces. They didn’t have respect and knowledge about graffiti in his own city. They do some things that I never think to do. Just one or two of the new generation know the game and how to play.
What are the best and worst aspects of graffiti?
Writers. Very good friends, nice people and lots of assholes.
Who do you paint for?
Just for me.
What writers have inspired you?
TWA Crew (Sore, Flexey, Surek), Emay, Aldi, 1992 Guys, GFM’s, HDA’s, WTC’s, H.COM’s, NYC kings…
Can you ever feel tired of graffiti?
Never, I think is more than painting. Real friends never makes me feel tired.
What do you hope people will think and feel when they see your stuff?
I make my stuff just for me. If people like it, great! If they hate it, check another IG profile.
